Duties of Editors
Fair Play and Editorial Independence
Editors at IJAIET evaluate manuscripts solely based on academic merit—importance, originality, clarity, validity, and relevance to artificial intelligence engineering and its transformative applications—without regard to the authors’ race, gender, sexual orientation, ethnic origin, citizenship, religious belief, political philosophy, or institutional affiliation. Editorial decisions are made independently and are not influenced by government or external institutions. The Editor-in-Chief has full authority over the editorial content and publication schedule, ensuring the journal’s commitment to advancing AI engineering and transformation.
Confidentiality
Editors must uphold strict confidentiality concerning submitted manuscripts. Information about a manuscript is only shared with the corresponding author, reviewers, editorial board members, or publisher as necessary. Editors shall not use unpublished material disclosed in submissions for personal research without written consent from the author.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Editors must withdraw from handling manuscripts where conflicts of interest exist due to competitive, collaborative, or personal relationships with any of the authors, institutions, or organizations involved. In such cases, the manuscript will be reassigned to another editor. Privileged information obtained during the review process must not be used for personal gain.
Publication Decisions
All manuscripts undergo peer review by at least two qualified experts in artificial intelligence and related fields. Final decisions are made by the Editor-in-Chief, considering reviewer feedback, legal obligations (e.g., plagiarism, copyright), and relevance to the journal’s scope. Consultation with reviewers and editorial board members may be used to aid in decision-making.
Investigations and Ethical Oversight
In cases of suspected unethical conduct or academic misconduct, editors will collaborate with the publisher and follow COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics) guidelines. If misconduct is confirmed, appropriate actions such as a correction, retraction, or expression of concern will be issued.
Duties of Reviewers
Contribution to Editorial Process
Peer review supports editorial decisions and assists authors in improving their manuscripts. IJAIET encourages all experts in AI and its engineering applications to contribute to the peer review process as part of their professional responsibility to the academic community.
Promptness
Reviewers invited to assess a manuscript should respond promptly. If a reviewer feels unqualified or unable to meet the review deadline, they should inform the editorial office so an alternative reviewer can be assigned.
Confidentiality
All manuscripts under review must be treated as confidential. They should not be shared or discussed with others without permission from the Editor-in-Chief. This confidentiality applies even to reviewers who decline to review.
Objectivity and Constructive Criticism
Reviews must be objective and constructive, offering feedback grounded in evidence. Reviewers should avoid personal criticism and instead focus on the scientific and technical merit of the submission.
Acknowledgement of Sources
Reviewers should point out relevant work not cited by the authors and inform editors about any suspected plagiarism or duplicate publication.
Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest
Reviewers must disclose any conflicts of interest and should not review manuscripts where such conflicts exist. Confidential information from the review process must not be used for personal advantage.
Duties of Authors
Reporting Standards
Authors must provide an accurate and comprehensive account of their research, with objective discussion of its relevance to AI engineering and transformation. Data and methods must be described in sufficient detail to ensure reproducibility. Misrepresentation or data fabrication is unethical and unacceptable.
Data Access and Retention
Authors may be requested to provide raw data during the editorial process and should make such data available for validation or replication purposes, considering privacy and legal constraints.
Originality and Plagiarism
All submissions must be original and appropriately reference all sources and prior work. Any form of plagiarism is strictly prohibited.
Multiple, Duplicate, or Concurrent Publication
Authors must not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously. Republishing content without acknowledgment is unethical, except under special circumstances (e.g., translations), with full disclosure.
Authorship Criteria
Only individuals who have made significant contributions to the research should be listed as authors. Others may be acknowledged with their consent. All co-authors must approve the manuscript and agree to its submission.
Conflict of Interest Disclosure
Authors must disclose all financial or non-financial conflicts of interest. All sources of funding and support must be transparently acknowledged.
Acknowledgment of Sources
Authors must cite all relevant literature and sources. Personal or confidential communications may only be used with explicit permission.
Use of Hazardous Materials, Humans, or Animals
If the research involves potentially hazardous technologies, human participants, or animal testing, authors must confirm compliance with relevant ethical and institutional guidelines, including obtaining necessary approvals.
Participation in Peer Review
Authors must respond in a timely and professional manner to editorial feedback and reviewer comments. Revised manuscripts should be submitted by the indicated deadlines.
Corrections and Retractions
If significant errors or inaccuracies are discovered post-publication, authors must work with the journal to issue corrections or retractions as appropriate.
Duties of the Publisher
Ethical Oversight and Misconduct Prevention
The publisher, in collaboration with the editors, is responsible for addressing proven or suspected cases of misconduct. This includes publishing corrections, clarifications, or retractions as necessary. The publisher and editors are committed to preserving the ethical integrity of the publication process and ensuring the journal publishes high-quality, ethically sound research in the field of AI engineering.
