Plagiarism Policy

Plagiarism Policy
At the International Journal of Artificial Intelligence Engineering and Transformation (IJAIET), we are committed to maintaining the highest standards of academic integrity and originality in scholarly publishing. Plagiarism in any form is a serious ethical violation and will not be tolerated. This policy outlines the procedures IJAIET follows to prevent, detect, and respond to plagiarism at all stages of the submission and publication process.

Definition of Plagiarism
Plagiarism occurs when an author presents another person’s work, ideas, data, or expressions without appropriate acknowledgment. It includes but is not limited to:

  1. Copying text, figures, tables, code, or algorithms without proper citation.
  2. Paraphrasing another’s work without sufficient acknowledgment.
  3. Using content from theses, technical reports, or online sources without attribution.
  4. Self-plagiarism, or reusing substantial portions of the author’s previously published work without citing the original source.

This policy applies to all content types, including research papers, datasets, code implementations, and AI models.

Plagiarism Detection
All submitted manuscripts are screened using advanced plagiarism detection software before entering the peer review process. The software checks for similarities with published research, online sources, preprints, and other submissions to ensure the content is original.

Handling Plagiarism
IJAIET uses the following thresholds and procedures for detected overlap:

  1. Less than 5% Similarity: Considered acceptable; the manuscript will proceed with an assigned ID and may be returned to the author for minor revisions if needed.
  2. 5% to 15% Similarity: The manuscript will not be assigned an ID. Authors will be notified and asked to revise the overlapping content appropriately before resubmission.
  3. More than 15% Similarity: The manuscript will be returned to the author without further review. Significant rewriting is required, and the manuscript must be resubmitted as a new submission after corrections.
  4. More than 30% Similarity: The manuscript will be immediately rejected due to extensive plagiarism. Authors may only resubmit after thoroughly addressing all issues and rewriting the work with proper citations.

Post-Publication Plagiarism
If plagiarism is discovered after publication, IJAIET will initiate a formal investigation. Based on the outcome, the journal may:

  1. Notify the author’s affiliated institution(s) and funding body.
  2. Add a watermark indicating plagiarism on every page of the published PDF.
  3. Issue a retraction or correction notice, depending on the severity of the violation.

Author Responsibility
By submitting to IJAIET, authors confirm that:

  1. Their submission is original, not under review elsewhere, and does not contain plagiarized material.
  2. All reused content, including figures, text, code, or datasets, is properly cited and attributed.
  3. They understand and respect the differences between paraphrasing, quoting, and plagiarism.

Failure to comply with these expectations—whether intentional or due to negligence—may result in manuscript rejection, retraction, or notification to affiliated institutions.

Self-Plagiarism
Self-plagiarism involves reusing substantial parts of the author’s previous work without proper acknowledgment. This includes duplicating paragraphs, sections, or figures from previous publications. While referencing one's past work is acceptable, proper citation is mandatory. Failure to do so will be treated with the same seriousness as plagiarism from other sources.

Ethical Commitment to Originality
The International Journal of Artificial Intelligence Engineering and Transformation is committed to publishing only original and ethically sound research. All authors are expected to adhere to this principle by citing all sources correctly and avoiding content duplication. IJAIET reserves the right to request clarification, supporting documentation, or further editorial review in cases where originality or citation practices are in question.
